How to convert PDF to Word

What you get

A Word file you can actually edit. Paragraphs flow, headings are headings, lists are lists, and tables come out as Word tables with the column widths of the original. Fonts are matched to the closest ones Word has. If your PDF is a scan or a photo of a document, the text is recognised (English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil) and laid out on the page so you can correct and reuse it.

When the layout does not come out perfectly

PDF was designed for printing, not for editing, so a few things need a hand afterwards: text set in columns can come out as one column, decorative fonts are swapped for standard ones, and text inside images stays an image. For a form you only need to fill in, Rotate, delete or keep only some pages and a PDF editor may be quicker than converting.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to an editable Word file?

Yes. A scanned PDF has no text inside it, so we read the text off the page image (OCR) and place it in the Word file. Check names and numbers afterwards; OCR is very good but not perfect on faint or skewed scans.

Does it keep tables and images?

Tables become real Word tables. Images are placed where they were on the page. Charts drawn as vector graphics may come out as pictures.

How do I convert PDF to Word on my phone?
